Aggregate Washing Machine

1. Aggregate which is one of the two materials employed in surface coating applications, must pass through tests of and satisfy certain criteria such as size, shape, rigidity and most important of all surface cleanliness. The aggregate material which will be used in surface coats must be thoroughly washed clean. Ratio by weight of the fraction passing through 0.63 mm sieve must be less than 0.5%. There must not be even a minute amount of clay on the surface of the aggregate. Otherwise it will severely damage the application. Since clay’s affinity to absorb water is very high, the water absorbed by it will impair the bond between bitumen and aggregate. It will cause the applied coat to fail. Cleanliness of the aggregate is tested as per TS 3530-EN 933-1 standard.

Aggregate Washing Plant It comprises of an aggregate hopper, conveyor, reverse sieve, high pressure water washing system and washed aggregate conveyor and category O3 mobile frame suitable for road traffic.
